Ooma’s Home Monitoring system is a DIY smart home platform announced at CES 2017 that connects to a variety of sensors, protecting a home when the homeowner is away. Sensors include motion, water, windows and doors, as well as up to one hundred other wireless sensors when paired with the Ooma Telo smart home phone device.
The system can send alerts through its Ooma Home Monitoring Mobile App, and via phone, SMS, and email.

Designed to work with Ooma Telo, Ooma Home Monitoring makes voice announcements when a sensor is triggered, and can even call 911 for the homeowner from the home’s landline, allowing the homeowner to speak to a dispatcher directly while the home address is being looked up.
Ooma Home Monitoring will be available during Q1 2017, but can be pre-ordered from Amazon today. The first purchased sensor – window/door $24.99, water $29.99 or motion $39.99 – will get the Home Monitoring service for free. Basic service, per device, is $5.99 per month, and though there is a premiere service, pricing for the latter was not mentioned.
