FlipShare TVCisco has announced a device that wirelessly displays content from its Flip family of video recorders on standard and HD TVs.

FlipShare TV consists of a USB dongle, RF remote and base station. The dongle and base communicate via a "802.11n point-to-point proprietary interface" that operates in the 5 GHz band.

The dongle plugs into a compatible computer and allows Flip content stored on a Windows XP / Vista or Mac OS X system in a FlipShare library to be wirelessly streamed to the base station that is connected to a TV via either analog composite or HDMI.

Formats supported include SD AVI MPEG4 (640×480 at 30fps), SD MP4 H.264 (640×480 at 30 fps) and HD MP4 H.264 (1280×720 at 30fps). MOV and WMV files converted by FlipShare can also be played.

The product will be available shortly at an MSRP of $149.99.
