Ubicom Introduces Network Processor With USB 3.0 Support

Ubicom today announced its next-generation network processor that includes DDR3 RAM and USB 3.0 support.

The IP8100 family of network processors are targeted towards next-generation solutions for consumer, SOHO and SMB products.

Features include an upgraded memory subsystem with 1066 MHz DDR3/DDR2 interface and dual PCI Express Gen 2, USB 2.0, USB 3.0 and Gigabit Ethernet interfaces.

The IP8100 series also supports Ubicom’s patented StreamEngine automatic QoS for upstream Internet traffic prioritization and WISH (Wireless Intelligent Stream Handling) for wireless traffic optimization.

The IP8100 is sampling now and offered with an OpenWRT SDK.
