Buffalo Unleashes Faster LinkStations

Updated – Buffalo Technology just announced a revamp of its LinkStation NAS line.

The new V-Series line includes the LinkStation Pro, LinkStation Pro Duo and LinkStation Pro Quad. All are based on a new platform using a Marvell 1.6 GHz Kirkwood-series processor and DDR3 RAM. Buffalo specs the new NASes at "network transfer speeds up to 76 MB/s"

The new NASes support Buffalo’s standard feature set, which includes scheduled backups to an external USB drive or networked Buffalo NAS, DLNA certified media and iTunes servers, CIFS/SMB, AFP, HTTP/HTTPS, FTP file sharing and Apple Time Machine support.

The V series supports Buffalo’s free WebAccess i app for Apple iPod touch and iPhone and WebAccess i HD app for iPad for easy remote access to stored media content.

The new LinkStation Pro is available immediately at estimated street prices of $189.99 for the 1 TB (LS-V1.0TL) and $259.99 for the 2 TB (LS-V2.0TL).

The LinkStation Pro Duo will available later this month at estimated street prices of $259.99 for the 2 TB (LS-WV2.0TL/R1) and $449.99 for the 4 TB (LS-WV4.0TL/R1).

The LinkStation Pro Quad will be available in November at estimated street prices of $269.99 $469.99 for the 2 TB (LS-QV2.0TL/R5), $579.99 for the 4 TB (LS-QV4.0TL/R5), $899.99 for the 6 TB (LS-QV6.0TL/R5) $1039.99 for the 8 TB and (LS-QV8.0TL/R5).

All models are backed by a limited one-year warranty.
