QNAP Announces SMB RackMount Atom NAS Duo

QNAP logoQNAP had added new four and eight-bay Atom-powered NASes.

The TS-469U-RP and TS-869U-RP are four and eight bay NASes running on 2.13 GHz dual-core Intel Atom CPUs. The four-bay model has 1GB of DDR3 RAM (expandable to 3GB) and the eight-bay has 2GB (expandable to 4GB). All bays are hot-swappable and support 2.5" and 3.5" SATA hard and SSD drives.

As shown in the figure below, both new NASes are equipped with USB 2.0 and 3.0, dual aggregatable Gigabit Ethernet and eSATA ports. Both also come with VGA ports for console use and have redundant power supplies

Both NASes run QNAP’s newest v3.7 firmware with features including iSCSI target and initiator, Windows ACL, VPN Server (OpenVPN and PPTP), Windows AD and LDAP support, Real Time Remote Replication (RTRR) and rsync backup and IP camera support via Surveillance Station Pro.

Like other QNAP SMB NASes, the TS-469U-RP and TS-869U-RP support VMware vSphere, Citrix XenServer and Windows Server 2008 R2 Hyper-V virtualization.

The TS-469U-RP and TS-869U-RP are available now at street prices around $1450 and $2025, respectively
