Last Friday, Synology announced the release of the DiskStation DS416 and DS216play NAS servers designed for optimized task processing. The DS416 is equipped with a Annapurna Labs Alpine AL-212 processor with powerful hardware encryption engine; the DS216play transcodes 4K video on-the-fly with its dual-core STM STiH412 processor

More recently, the company also announced the beta release of DiskStation Manager (DSM) 6.0, the latest version of its NAS operating system.

TRENDnet ships outdoor 1.3 megapixel WiFi network camera

TRENDnet announced it is shipping its Outdoor 1.3 MP HD WiFi IR Network Camera, model TV-IP322WI. The new compact camera provides installers the flexibility of connecting to a WiFi N or PoE network.

ASUSTOR Launches 31 Series 4K Multimedia NAS

ASUSTOR announced the launch of its 31 series NAS devices for multimedia prosumers. The 31 series consists of the 2-bay AS3102T and the 4-bay AS3104T. Both use 1.6 GHz dual-core Intel Celeron N3050 processors with 2 GB of DDR3 RAM.

Tenda Announces $40 8 Port PoE Switch
