Code 42 Software has announced iOS and Android apps for its Crashplan cloud backup service.

The apps enable users to browse, download, view and share files from CrashPlan+ online backups.

Pictures, word processing files, slide presentations and spreadsheets can be viewed directly within the apps, or shared with other compatible apps.

Downloaded files are stored on the mobile device for fast access. Once downloaded, files can be synchronized with the latest online version.

CrashPlan apps are currently available for free download via the Apple iTunes App Store and Android Marketplace. The app requires a current subscription to CrashPlan+.
