D-Link has launched a new cloud managed, PoE access point using PowerCloud‘s CloudCommand for management.
After the recent announcement by Atheros of enabling PowerCloud’s CloudCommand management in their chipset SDK, we are now seeing OEMs launching products use the cloud-based management technology.
The DAP-2555 is a Dual Band, Power-over-Ethernet 802.11n access point. Management is via PowerCloud’s CloudCommand, and provides guest-network capabilities, along with two-factor authentication to the back-end and monitoring and alerts via SMS and e-mail notification.
MSRP for the AP is $399.99 and it’s available now. The first year of CloudCommand is included with the router, with each additional year costing $99. D-Link will be launching additional APs based on the PowerCloud system throughout the year. For now you can read about the DAP-2555 on D-Link’s website.
