NETGEAR today announced new hybrid cloud services for its ReadyNAS products.

The company has enhanced the value of its ReadyNAS Vault cloud backup service on its new Ultra product line and rackmount enterprise grade systems.

New Ultras now come with 2 GB of ReadyNAS Vault backup storage for 24 months. New rackmount ReadyNASes (2100, 3100, 3200, 4200) get 100 GB of backup storage for 12 months.

NETGEAR also announced that it has partnered with Egnyte to add a hybrid cloud file storage and backup service. This feature is targeted at business users, but can be installed on any x86-based ReadyNAS.

Egnyte’s hybrid cloud service syncs local ReadyNAS storage with Egnyte’s cloud. Local users can then access stored data at LAN speeds while remote users can access and modify the same data via the Internet.

Egnyte’s service also allows secure access to cloud-stored data via secure links and shared folders as well as from mobile devices. Client backup is also included in the service.

Plans start at $70 / month for 150 GB of cloud storage and 10 backup licenses, after a free trial period. $90 (1 TB / 20 backups) and $140 (1 TB / 50 backups) plans are also available.
