Jungle Disk today announced a new service for backing up servers in the cloud.
Jungle Disk Server Edition is an "entirely new" backup engine designed to handle large, complex backup jobs for both Linux and Windows-based servers. There are no file size or total backup limits and the service uses advanced compression and de-duplication.
Pricing is $5 per server per month plus storage fees, which are lowest at Jungle Disk’s parent company, Rackspace (15 cents per GB per month with the first 10 GB free and no data transfer or request charges).
Storage is also available via Amazon S3 for 15 cents per GB per month in the US and 18 cents in the EU. Amazon also charges Data transfer and request fees. The service is available now.
Jungle Disk also announced enhancements to Jungle Disk Workgroup and Desktop Editions, as well as a new back-up only service, Simply Backup.
