The best source of consumer networking product performance information on the Web just got better. We have now added Price vs. Performance Charts for Router, NAS and Wireless products.

An example of the new Chart type is shown below, displaying a plot of NAS price vs. 1000 Mbps Average Read Performance.

Price vs. NAS 1000 Mbps Read Performance

Figure 1: Price vs. NAS 1000 Mbps Read Performance

Each point, which uses the manufacturer’s favicon for easy identification, represents a product in the SmallNetBuilder performance database that has performance data for the selected benchmark. is displayed if a manufacturer does not have a favicon.

Price vs. Performance views can be generated for any performance benchmark for Router, NAS and Wireless products and you can use the filter criteria at the top of the page to reduce the number of products displayed.

Mousing over a plot point will show the product name, model number, performance and price. While clicking on a plot point will display a Feature summary.

To enhance viewing, i.e. spread points out a bit, product price is plotted on a logarithmic scale, while performance is plotted on a linear scale. The prices shown are Pricegrabber’s lowest listed price, updated nightly.

Please drop us a line or post a comment and share your thoughts on the new charts. Enjoy!
