Paragon Software Logo NASes based on Marvell CPUs and SoCs may soon be getting a performance boost for attached NTFS and HFS+ formatted drives.

Paragon Software has announced that Marvell has chosen its Universal File System Driver (UFSD) technology to improve cross-platform read/write performance.

Paragon’s NTFS for Linux and HFS+ for Linux will support attachment of Windows and MacOS formatted external drives and provide improved performance over current open source methods.

Paragon’s solutions are compatible with Marvell’s ARM instruction-set compliant CPU processors, including SheevaPlug, and "Kirkwood" family storage SoCs. These processors are used in many of the leading NASes from QNAP, Synology, Buffalo, Seagate, Western Digital and others.
