Iomega today announced new rackmount and desktop NASes targeted at small and mid-sized businesses.
The StorCenter Pro NAS 200r 1TB Server and the StorCenter Pro NAS 200r 1TB Server with Print Serving capability are four-drive "data center" products powered by Windows Storage Server 2003 R2. The NASes support Microsoft’s Encrypting File System, Volume Shadow Copy Services, and Active Directory Services. The Print Serving version can support up to five printers, or more with an optional Windows Print Server upgrade.
Also introduced is the desktop StorCenter Pro NAS 150d 3TB Server with Active Directory support. This Linux-based NAS supports computers running the Windows, Unix, Linux and Mac OS X operating systems and includes a USB print server.

HP and Microsoft have decided to delay shipment of the first product to use Microsoft's Windows Home Server operating system.
An HP spokesperson today said that the company and its partner Microsoft had decided to rework the MSS's software to make it more "user-friendly" to general consumers.

The N5200PRO doubles the processor speed and memory of its predecessor, using a 1.5 GHz Intel Celeron M processor and 512MB of DDR memory.
The N5200PRO features up to 5TB of capacity with five 3.5" SATA drive bays and supports multiple RAID levels, allowing multiple RAID volumes on a single system. The N5200PRO also supports iSCSI initiators, enabling users to access the N5200PRO as an iSCSI target device over the Internet or LAN.
QNAP recently launched a new BYOD SATA NAS.
The TS-109 Pro Turbo Station is a single drive BYOD SATA NAS capable of supporting 1 TB drives. Storage can be further expanded via USB 2.0 and eSATA ports. A single 10/100/1000 Ethernet port with jumbo frame support handles LAN connection.
The Turbo station features a web server with PHP, MySQL and SQLite support. Media serving options include a UPnP/DLNA Media Server with TwonkyMedia and Internet radio and well as an iTunes server.
