Cloud Engines today announced streaming and file copy enhancements for its Pogoplug sharing devices.

Pogoplug users can now stream content to Xbox 360 and PS3 game consoles from any local or remote Pogoplug. The Xbox 360 or PS3 will automatically see the drives connected to the Pogoplug and their contents.

The new Active Copy feature enables users to back up computer folders to a Pogoplug-connected drive. Whenever new files are added, or changes are made to an existing file within the Active Copy enabled folder, these files are automatically copied to a chosen destination folder. Users can also use Active Copy to automatically back up key files from one Pogoplug to another, for additional safety and redundancy.

Both features will update to all Pogoplugs worldwide via an automatic firmware upgrade today.
