QNAP Adds 12-Bay Atom-Powered Rackmount NAS

QNAP logoQNAP has announced a 12 bay Atom-powered rackmount NAS.

The TS-1269U-RP joins the previously-announced four bay TS-469U-RP and TS-869U-RP in QNAP’s SMB rackmount NAS lineup.

Like its four and eight bay siblings, the twelve-bay TS-1269U-RP is powered by a dual-core 2.13 GHz Intel Atom processor. It has dual Gigabit Ethernet LAN ports and 2 GB DDR3 RAM that can be expanded to a total of 3 GB. All bays are hot-swappable and support 2.5" and 3.5" SATA hard and SSD drives up to 4 TB.

Ports include two USB 3.0, four USB 2.0, two eSATA, one VGA and one HDMI. Dual redundant power supplies are standard.

The NAS runs QNAP’s newest v3.8.1 firmware with features including iSCSI target and initiator with SPC-3 persistent reservation and advanced MPIO and MC/S support, iSCSI LUN snapshot and backup, Windows ACL, VPN Server (OpenVPN and PPTP), Windows AD and LDAP support, Real Time Remote Replication (RTRR) and rsync backup and IP camera support via Surveillance Station Pro. Cloud storage options include AmazonS3, Google Drive, ElephantDrive and Symform.

The TS-1269U-RP is certified with Windows Server 2012 and is VMware Ready for ESXi 5, supporting both vSphere 4 and vSphere 5.

The TS-1269U-RP is available now, street priced around $2,400.
