QNAP Announces Celeron Rackmount NASes

QNAP logoQNAP has launched a new rackmount NAS family and one for smaller budgets

The business-class TS-x53U Turbo NAS series featres a 2.0 GHz Intel Celeron quad-core processor, 4 GB DDRIII RAM (expandable to 8 GB), four aggregateable gigabit LAN ports and single and redundant power supply options. 10 GbE is not an option.

12-bay UX-1200U-RP or 8-bay UX-800U-RP expansion enclosures can be attached to provide a total capacity of up to 192 TB (TS-1253U-RP + UX-1200U-RP).

The family ships in four, eight and twelve bay models with single or redundant power supplies.

The more affordable TS-451U Turbo NAS is powered by a 2.41 GHz dual-core Intel Celeron processor with 1 GB DDR3L RAM (upgradable to 8GB) with dual aggregateable Gigabit Ethernet ports. There are also four USB 3.0, two USB 2.0 and one HDMI ports.

Connecting a 12-bay QNAP UX-1200U-RP RAID expansion enclosure expands the TS-451U’s total storage to 128 TB of raw capacity.

All models accept 2.5" and 3.5" SATA solid state and hard drives in hot-swappable bays. These can be configured in multiple JBOD and RAID 0, 1, 5, 6 and 10 volumes with optional AES 256 encryption.

All models run QNAP’s QTS 4.1 NAS OS with an extensive feature set including SSD cache and virtualization support and QvPC technology for full management support by attaching an HDMI monitor and USB keyboard and mouse.

Everything is shipping shortly. QNAP did not provide pricing.
