Synology has announced a new small-biz four-bay NAS.
The DS412+ is a non-expandable four-bay NAS built on the same 2.13 GHz Intel "Cedar Trail" Atom D2700 CPU / 1 GB DDR3 RAM platform as its recently-introduced expandable NASes like the DS1512+.
Other hardware features include dual Gigabit Ethernet ports supporting failover and aggregation and two USB 3.0, one USB 2.0 and one eSATA ports. The DS412+ is Synology’s first four-bay NAS to feature hot-swappable drives behind an easily-removable front cover.
The DS412+ runs Synology’s recently-released Linux-based DiskStation Manager 4.0 OS that includes Synology’s new Cloud Station remote file sync feature. Other OS features include ADS integration for domains up to 100,000 users and groups, ACL support, multiple volumes and iSCSI LUNs, up to 64 iSCSI targets and VMWare, Citrix, Microsoft Hyper-V compliance.
The DS412+ is shipping now at an MSRP of $649.99.
