Thecus Announces Four Bay D510 Atom NAS

Thecus has announced a new quad-bay NAS using Intel’s new dual-core Atom CPU.

The Thecus N4200‘s hardware platform includes a 1.66 GHz Intel Atom D510 dual-core processor 1GB of DDR2 memory, dual DOM flash, two Gigabit Ethernet LAN ports, six USB 2.0 and two eSATA ports.

It is Thecus’ first product to include a new dual-display design with an LCD displaying system information and a 2.8” OLED display and associated switches for system configuration and status. Also included is a built-in battery backup module for smooth shutdown in the event of power failure

Four 3.5" SATA drive bays accept up to 2 TB drives, which can be configured in RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10 and JBOD volumes, formatted with Ext3, XFS or ZFS. Multiple volumes are supported, as are hot swap, hot spare, online RAID expansion and migration and optional 256 bit AES volume encryption.

The N4200 be availalbe in US this month at an MSRP of $799.
