Broadcom today announced what it says is the world’s first full-featured, single-chip 802.11n solution.

The Broadcom BCM4322 combines all of the elements of a wireless LAN subsystem onto a single silicon die, including 802.11 MAC, baseband processor, 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz radios and other WLAN components. Broadcom claims that the device can deliver " over 200 Mbps of actual wireless throughput".

SMC Networks yesterday announced the start of shipments of its Barricade N Draft 11n Broadband Router (SMCWBR14-N2). The product has both ‘Works with Windows Vista’ and Wi-Fi certifications. Iomega today announced new rackmount and desktop NASes targeted at small and mid-sized businesses.

The StorCenter Pro NAS 200r 1TB Server and the StorCenter Pro NAS 200r 1TB Server with Print Serving capability are four-drive "data center" products powered by Windows Storage Server 2003 R2. The NASes support Microsoft’s Encrypting File System, Volume Shadow Copy Services, and Active Directory Services. The Print Serving version can support up to five printers, or more with an optional Windows Print Server upgrade.

Also introduced is the desktop StorCenter Pro NAS 150d 3TB Server with Active Directory support. This Linux-based NAS supports computers running the Windows, Unix, Linux and Mac OS X operating systems and includes a USB print server.

D-Link yesterday announced its membership in the Multimedia over Coax Alliance (MoCA), an open, industry-driven initiative promoting distribution of digital video, data and entertainment through existing coaxial cable in the home. D-Link currently has no products with MoCA-compliant features.

Linksys today announced a new line of “affordable” wireless LAN products using MIMO technology.
