The TZ 180 delivers gateway UTM scanning at twice the speed of SonicWALL’s TZ 170. A new Security Dashboard provides a real-time snapshot of the number and type of security threats blocked by SonicWALL’s threat prevention technology worldwide, as well as the threats blocked by the user’s appliance. I finally got around to pulling the Blogs into the main site. They were running on a standalone install of WordPress. But that left them sort of hanging out alone. You now can comment on Blog posts, with or without site registration.

Buffalo Technology earlier this week announced its new Web Access
feature
for its LinkStation Live NAS products, including a music streaming
feature.

Web Access provides secure browser-based access to any content stored on a
user’s LinkStation Live NAS by logging into www.buffaloNAS.com. The new feature is available for existing LinkStation Live customers via a free
firmware upgrade and port forwarding is not required for UPnP-enabled routers.

NETGEAR today announced that it has agreed to purchase privately-held
networked storage appliance maker Infrant Technologies.

Under the terms of the agreement, NETGEAR will pay $60 million in cash
for Infrant. Infrant shareholders may receive a total additional payout of up
to $20 million in cash over the three years following closure of the acquisition
if specific revenue targets are reached.

The acquisition is subject to various standard closing conditions and is expected
to close in the second quarter. Following completion of the transaction, Infrant’s
President and Chief Executive Officer Paul Tien will become NETGEAR’s Vice President
and General Manager for storage products.
