ZyXEL today added an SSL gateway and mobile broadband router to its ZyWALL security product line.

The ZyWALL SSL-10 is an integrated SSL-VPN and Firewall appliance supporting 10 sessions in its base configuration and upgradeable to 25 sessions. Users have access to shared network resources through a single web page with user rights defined by login ID.

The product provides a customizable web portal that users can access through a standard Web browser to easily and securely access e-mail, applications, web servers and other resources on the remote network.

Wi-Fi Networking news reports that the AirPort Extreme Base Station with 802.11n is now shipping. The software enabler required to update existing Macs that have 802.11n technology built in is included with the $179 Extreme gateway. Apple and Cisco issued the following statement today regarding the iPhone lawsuit: “Apple and Cisco have agreed to extend the time for Apple to respond to the lawsuit to allow for discussions between the companies with the aim of reaching agreement on trademark rights and interoperability.”

Axis Communications today announced a video server blade and rack solution for professional surveillance installations.

The AXIS 243Q Blade Video Server is specially designed for the AXIS 291 1U rack. It converts video signals from up to four analog cameras into full frame rate, de-interlaced digital video that can be viewed via an IP network. The server delivers 30 frames a second of video per channel, at 4CIF, in MPEG-4 or Motion JPEG compression.
