Backblaze today launched a business version of its online backup service that provides unlimited backup for $50 per computer per year.
The business service uses the same client-side software (Windows XP, Vista, 7 and Intel-based Macintosh laptops and desktops) as the consumer service, which handles deduplication/compression/encryption/backup. The new business service offers central payment (via credit card or P.O.) for multiple accounts and also centralized reporting.
Emailed automated reports are generated daily, weekly, or monthly and include information on all licensed computers, data selected for backup, how much is remaining to upload (files & GB), time of last backup and more.
Backblaze says it is the only online backup service to provide unlimited storage at a fixed monthly or yearly price. Other services charge $0.50 – $2.00/GB/month, which means a computer with 100 GB of backed-up data would cost $600 – $2400/year.
The new service is available immediately at Backblaze.com.
