Iomega Launches New Mediaplayer Line

Iomega has announced a new line of HD media players with built-in storage.

The ScreenPlay DX HD Media Player family includes two models with 1 TB and 2 TB of built-in storage.

The companion ScreenPlay TV Link DX HD Media Player is also available, which does not have internal storage, but USB drives can be attached to add it.

All models are DLNA certified and handle up to 1080p / 60 fps HD video playback of H.264, WMV and RMVB formats. The new line is also DivX Plus HD certified for MKV playback.

AV outputs include HDMI, composite video, component video, analog stereo and caxial optical S/PDIF. Three USB 2.0 ports enables external storage expansion with NTFS, HFS+, FAT32, Ext2 or Ext3 formatted drives.

Iomega ScreenPlay TV Link DX HD Media Player

A 10/100 Ethernet network connection is built in, with wireless connection supported via a bundled 802.11n USB wireless adapter. A full QWERTY keyboard remote can be used with the built-in web browser feature and Netflix and Pandora services.

The ScreenPlay DX HD Media Players are available now in 1TB ($229.99) and 2TB ($299.99) capacities. The 2TB verson is currently available in international markets only. The diskless ScreenPlay TV Link DX HD Media Player is also shipping for $149.99. (All prices are U.S. suggested retail.). All ScreenPlay DX products include a 3-year limited warranty (with registration).
