Thecus updates N5200 NAS
Thecus today announced an updated version of its high-performance five-bay RAID NAS.
The N5200PRO doubles the processor speed and memory of its predecessor, using a 1.5 GHz Intel Celeron M processor and 512MB of DDR memory.
The N5200PRO features up to 5TB of capacity with five 3.5" SATA drive bays and supports multiple RAID levels, allowing multiple RAID volumes on a single system. The N5200PRO also supports iSCSI initiators, enabling users to access the N5200PRO as an iSCSI target device over the Internet or LAN.
QNAP expands BYOD NAS line
QNAP recently launched a new BYOD SATA NAS.
The TS-109 Pro Turbo Station is a single drive BYOD SATA NAS capable of supporting 1 TB drives. Storage can be further expanded via USB 2.0 and eSATA ports. A single 10/100/1000 Ethernet port with jumbo frame support handles LAN connection.
The Turbo station features a web server with PHP, MySQL and SQLite support. Media serving options include a UPnP/DLNA Media Server with TwonkyMedia and Internet radio and well as an iTunes server.
