NETGEAR Announces Sub-$100 Draft 11ac Router

NETGEAR logoUpdate – NETGEAR’s sixth draft 11ac router takes an aggressive pricing stance.

The R6100 WiFi Router AC1200 Dual Band is NETGEAR’s first router to break the $100 barrier. It is an AC1200 class router supporting link rates up to 300 Mbps in the 2.4 GHz band and 867 Mbps in 5 GHz.

It has all Gigabit 10/100 ports (1 WAN, 4 switched LAN) and a single USB 2.0 port supporting ReadySHARE storage and printer sharing.

The R6100 supports the same features as NETGEAR’s other draft 11ac routers including guest network access, EZ mobile connect, Live Parental controls and easy CD-less installation.

The R6100 also supports NETGEAR’s genie app as well as AirPrint and MyMedia remote media access.

The R6100 is available now at a $99.99 MSRP.

Linksys intros dual-band Draft 11n router

Linksys today announced the first of its Ultra RangePlus wireless networking products.

The Ultra RangePlus Dual-Band Wireless-N Gigabit Router (WRT600N) and Dual-Band Wireless-N Notebook Adapter (WPC600N) are 802.11n Draft 2.0 Wi-Fi Certified and operate in the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz Wi-Fi bands. The WRT600N has two radios for simultaneous dual-band coverage. Both products are based on Broadcom Intensi-Fi draft 11n chipsets.
