AirMagnet Announces Lower Cost Wi-Fi Spectrum Analyzer

AirMagnet AirMedic USB AirMagnet just introduced a more affordable Wi-Fi spectrum analysis tool.

The AirMedic USB is a USB module and companion software that runs on any Windows 7, Vista or XP PC and any Apple MacBook Pro running BootCamp, Parallels Desktop or VMware Fusion.

AirMedic USB allows a user to quickly detect and diagnose RF interference and troubleshoot WLAN problems in the 2.4 GHz, 4.9 GHz and 5 GHz bands. Users can choose to view bands individually or together in an integrated view. Available graphs include Real-Time FFT, Spectrum Density, Spectrogram, Duty Cycle, Channel Power and more.

The Spectrum USB adapter includes an internal antenna and an MMCX connector to connect the omnidirectional antenna included in the AirMedic package or an optional directional antenna. It also works with any Wi-Fi adapter in the same computer to provide a variety of Wi-Fi charts and deliver simultaneous Wi-Fi perspectives. Charts include AP signal strength, AP list and Channel Occupancy. Other features include scan record and playback and compatibility with AirMagnet Spectrum XT.

AirMagnet AirMedic USB is available now for $995 MSRP.
